I have been absolutely dreadful about updating my blog, but here we are...Kind of Mainstream Stuff For some reason Valentine's day inspires the tacky art bug in me. I made two paintings on that day (with a total of five variants between the two,) and three the day before that which ended up in my entry for an adults-only at the Cybrotica arts community Valentine's Day card contest (more on that.) I posted the least offensive of my V.D. (pardon the pun) paintings here on my LiveJournal, in case anyone is interested in taking a closer look. Feel free to click on it if you wish to see Zoya in her full tack-tastic, bad makeup glory. I will be uploading a nudie version for the paysite. I am in the mood to make more Rasputin Barxotka-themed art, because yesterday was the fictional birthday of the fictional Mr. Sasha. Also I would like to congratulate the puppetmistress on the mainstream site for her first lettering job on a comic that I actually approved! I am very proud of her, and wish her luck in her marionette presentation and construction class. Fun stuff is coming to the Suckaverse, if she has her way with the generation 3 marionettes. BWHAHAHAHHA!!! A couple of new blogs were made in the Polska, Sucka! community, including a rather twisted observation by Falnedn about Dmitri possibly being a fallen god. While I don't agree with this assertion, it certainly made me think. Another fun thing from the mainstream world is the fact that I've been making a Vlog with the characters of the Rasputin Barxotka universe. This is the latest stuff I added to the paysite (uncensored in the actual site):  Flat-Broke Flat-Dwellers/Apartamentirosos #7 Nothing special with this little and comic strip, just another fun installment in the Rabbitchy vs. Upir's Mark rental payment drama. Cards -- Los Amantes This is one of my favorite images of all time from my unfinished tarot card set. I love the awkward construction of it, for slightly distorted anatomy, and the fact that it looks more like a stained glass image then an actual drawing. This is the kind of image that would make a cartooning purist like John Kricfaulsi suffer from a massive case of projectile vomiting, and the tackiness-fiend like me smile proudly. Lucifera & Satana I did a 3-part series of pseudo-acrylic digital paintings entitled "Satana & Lucifera." Dmitri Satan is just posing with Lucifera. She is a woman who was searching for immortality as an upir, but did not survive Dmitri feeding upon her. One of the recurring themes of the nightmares have had about Dmitri is the fact that very rarely, are Dmitri's victims unwilling participants to his appetites. They are usually seeking eternal life as vampires (upir) or they are seeking some sort of romanticized dispatch. Invariably, they do not get what they are seeking, as the Dmitri is really nothing more than some garden-variety psychopath. Maybe he psychopath is not the right word for him, as he does seem to have a very twisted sense of morality, and some semblance of a conscience. I think a more accurate description would be an animalistic sexual predator, completely unable to make his victims desires come to light, yet entirely unable to resist the lure of easy prey. Creatures like him have a tendency of being cowardly and opportunistic, and they are not going to go after strong and watchful beasts. Dmitri is extremely scary in my mind, for the fact that he is aware of his evil and instinctive nature, but is completely ill-equipped to deal with the consequences. Still, ignorance is not an excuse for malevolent behavior. I don't completely understand why he behaves the way he does, but I think if did, I would probably be needing some sort of psychiatric help. Fortunately, a virtual canvas with virtual paint, provide means with the and effective way of dealing with my nightmares. A artistic image is nowhere near as scary as the reality that I am confronted with whenever I listen to the news on the radio, or read the newspapers.
