"Fatigue, ton nom est KavenBach"3/12/2008

..."Fatigue, thy name is KavenBach."

I'm as bloody exhausted as last week!  Horrible cramps in my thighs (underneath) from standing for days on end shoveling snow, handling trays full of peat moss and seeds, and pressure-washing the inside of a greenhouse... not to mention standing in one place and keeping the cows from knocking over the water-trough-of-final-resort after saturday's storm completely buried the regular one in a *HARD* snowbank.  Grrarhhhgh!

Saturday was rough.  No resting that day... work in the morning until noon, then work to feed the cows, then driving to get last-minute receipts signed for tax refund purposes... followed by horrifically nerve-wracking driving down a highway covered in idiots not smart enough to go the slightly-faster speed that would have corrected the visibility problem.  See, at 60 kph the falling snow hit the windshield and stuck, ruining visibility and sticking to the windshield wipers, causing one to expend one's last drop of washer fluid.  However at 80 kph the wind movement kept the majority of the flakes from hitting the windshield and sticking... meh.  Suffice it to say that it was a horrible drive, and in the end it resulted in me spending the night at family's.  Of course that meant arriving home late the next day (after the worst of the storm had gone through) and not resting until 9 at night after clearing out the snow dumped and feeding/watering the bovines.

Since the weekend wasn't restful, I had no stores left for the week's work... it shows.  I'm really not feeling strong at all... "pas fort," as we say in Quebec Fench.  Dunno how I'm going to manage to get through the week...

Anyway.  All this to say that I haven't had time to do anything much creative this week.  I just sent in another story tonight, the second part of the "Hell's Purgatory" series.  It's been written for a few weeks... I figured I might need to keep some updates ready for this time of year.  Honestly I don't know how far the series will get, but I'd like to try it out at least...

Basically, the four gals and one guy now trapped in Hell's Purgatory reach the village they were told to find.  Inside they witness many strange and terrible sights, and while they find shelter within the Sisterhood's temple, they discover that "shelter" is a relative term in this brutal world.  However, they do indeed learn a great many things about this place... not all of them unpleasant, either.

Well, that'll have to be it for tonight, folks.  I'm beat, and need to get to bed.  Early rise tomorrow... and another snowstorm coming.  grarh...

Night, everybody!
