This sucks!
We've just heard news that our payment-processing company just "died." What that means is that any site running by them is, well, no longer doing so. That applies to DamselDanger, I fear, and I think the Debauched Dreams theme sites too... damn. What that means, of course, is that no one can join my site (as well as many other artists') or Debauched Dreams (I think)... and anyone already joined won't see their membership renewed. And there's nothing I can do about it...!
Apparently the company went belly-up because of some damn newspaper spearheading an on-line-censorship push... credit card companies decided the water was getting too hot or something. God Damn it... evil censors! Why can't they leave well enough alone?! All these damn religious fanatics and prudes... complaining at the top of their lungs while secretly doing worse things in REAL LIFE. Assholes... evil.
Bah. This is a blog, I'm supposed to voice my thoughts here.
And my thoughts are that these people are really idiotic.
Bah! I'll keep you all posted for developments! I'll also keep updating... for all the good it'll do in the meantime. *Sigh*

| I never wanted to put my more violent art in a non-member site because as a mom, I would never want kids to have easy access to it. I really didn't post on ADF for that reason, but I fear that I may have to move all of that work there, if I don't find a different venue for it. Then again, I am not sure I'd feel right, so I might need to have it in paper 'zine form only. If our kind of art style was illegal, it would be different, but I have seen worse stuff in R-rated movies. I feel totally lost about this. I am so sorry that you were affected by this too. I always admired your passion for your work.
This pissed me off enough that I wrote about it in my mainstream blog: http://vaslittlecrow.livejournal.com/482864.html http://vaslittlecrow.livejournal.com/483172.html http://vaslittlecrow.livejournal.com/484944.html Anyway, here's a virtual hug for you my friend.

| Thanks for the comment/support/hug. Gratefully accepted.
My "art" has always pretty much been junk, really, until more lately. I've gotten better, and started a slightly more realistic look on some pieces. However until just recently it was always just *comics* really, and while the subject matter is brutal/violent/macabre/horror (with a smattering of comedy for good measure) it's pretty much always been firmly in the realm of fantasy. Fantasy, in the sense that most of what I draw involves nonexistent critters of some form or another. For that reason, being shut down (cc-wise) because of some Daily Rag's campaign against people who can't tell truth from fiction **REALLY** pissed me off. You might have noticed that on the SBE forum, heh. I post a lot of my art on Eka's Portal, a vore site, but very, very little of the brutal stuff. Most of my Vore imagery are basically woman-shaped bulges in plants and snakes, no blood and no realism. However I allowed myself to start posting more brutal things, like nude Gladiatrixes battling each other and severing limbs, once I had the Members site. While I have other reasons not to post at ADF, yours happens to be one of them: I'd rather those that see my "worst" works be those that paid *knowing* what they were looking for... not some twelve-year old that happens to be, say, searching for a list of night-time Dungeons & Dragons fantasy creatures (Fantasy+After+Dark, see?) I'm a little surprised, and wondering if you actually follow my work, mind you. Surprises me a little if that's the case, since what I've seen of yours tends to be quite different in terms of style, content, everything really. You're right that while my stuff is firmly settled into the imaginary, a lot of it would be right at home in some of the more brutal movies and semi-mainstream comics... *which can be bought by credit card over a counter!* I thank you very much for the "passion for my work" comment as well... as I do. Despite the violence, the "insanity" of it, I love to see the stories take shape (written or drawn) and I am, as much as I am able in this judgmental world, proud of it. I checked out your mainstream blog entries. You are absolutely right to be righteously indignant. I think all of us who produce the "rougher" art are at this. Thank you again for the hug. Returned with interest :-) K-Bach

| I do follow what I can, and considering we're in the same boat, I offer all the support I can. Thank you for checking out the blog. I think I posted more stuff on another response, and you'll see it, now I need to go to bed. | |||
