Blacklight
The blacklight had certainly been created and used in séances in Victorian times but not by nice genteel ladies and gentlemen. It had been the creation of those who revelled in the dark underbelly of society, those with the wealth to break the social conventions and get away with it. This bunch of nineteenth century thrill seekers didn’t just want to speak with the dead, they wanted to raise the damned souls from hell; and shake hands with them.
The first Glenda knew that anything was wrong was when she thought she saw something out of the corner of her eye, a faint shadow passing across the wall in a way that just seemed wrong. She didn’t get a chance to figure out why before a hand appeared out of nowhere and clamped onto her shoulder. Glenda spun around, and her scream drowned out Annie’s faux séance as she confronted a ghastly apparition.
That it was a man wasn’t in doubt but it was one who had spent centuries in the depths of hell so his physical form was warped and disfigured. Gaunt to the pint where bone broke through the flesh, a mouth more like a sharks and an expression twisted into hate and rage. The eyes were the worst though, the radiated a dark power that seemed to suck the will out of Glenda, leaving her standing there as the ghoul wizened, twisted fingers reached out and tore her sweater off her body. Glenda was a slender built brunette whose breasts were perky rather than full; which everyone in the room could now see.
